Live at 8pm tonight: how did the US polls do?
UPDATE: This has now been broadcast and you can watch it back here -
There has been so much interest in my initial look at how the US Presidential election polls performed that I’m doing to do a live video chat on this topic at 8pm tonight.
It’s with James Malley of the excellent Odds and Ends of History newsletter, though you may well know him best as that Postcode Address File guy.
We’ll talk about why that Ann Selzer poll was so exciting… and wrong, as well as whether other pollsters should be feeling as bad as her about their own polls this time around.
We’ll talk for around 30-40 minutes so for anyone with impeccable TV taste, i.e. Taskmaster fans, we will be finished in good time for the Grand Final where the race to win looks even closer than the Presidential election did.
Don’t forget, it’s going to be live, so you’ll also be able to comment/ask questions!
To tune in, all you’ll need is the Substack app (which is on iPhone and Android). The link to watch is here.
Hope to see you there!
